Everel was a master of the Guild of Perfumiers in Szar before that city was conquered by the Wasp Empire. He was made a slave but allowed to maintain his profession and bring much of his perfume-making cache with him to Capitas.
The Scent of Tears[]
Everel meets Dagmar, a daughter of his previous employers, and takes pity on her, since her mother was a better mistress than their current one Fyrtha. He tells Dagmar about his craft, including a particular scent that drives wasps mad.
Later, he is horrified when he realises that Dagmar has spiked the scented fountains at a family get together with that same scent. She advises him to hide inside as the arriving racing wasps start to frenzy. It is unknown if he survived.
